On [[2026-03-20]], preparing a gift and also for the [[Coffee|iced coffee]] season, I got a new setup to prepare [[Cold Brew Coffee|cold brew]] consisting on a nylon bag and a large mason jar. Using this setup, what I usually do to prepare [[Cold Brew Coffee|cold brew]] is: - A ratio of **50g of coffee per 1L of water**. I like this looser ratio and if I need more power I can alway steep it a bit longer. This ratio was [[Old School's Cold Brew Coffee|suggested by Aitor over at Old School]]. - I grind the coffee using **30-35 clicks in my [[Comandante C40]]**. That is an extra coarse ground. - I submerge the whole bag and let the grounds steep during **16-20h**. That depends mostly on the coffee and what I aim for; feel free to try to check if it's ready. - Once it's ready, I remove the bag with the grounds and filter the whole thing through a paper filter to get a clearer brew. - Especially for washed coffee, I like to serve it with one or **two drops of saline solution**. It really kicks the flavor up a notch and makes it feel extra refreshing.
