Spanish [[Cubism|Cubist]] painter born in 1887 in [[Madrid]], [[Spain]]. Working closely with Picasso and Braque in Paris, Gris developed a distinctive approach to Synthetic Cubism marked by bright harmonious colour and rigorous compositional structure. Died 1927.
