Croatian painter born in 1924 in [[Osijek]], [[Croatia]]. A founding member of the [[Gorgona]] group, he devoted his entire career to variations on a single motif — the [[Meander No. 5 - Julije Knifer (1960)|meander]] — creating austere, black-and-white compositions that explored the boundaries of painting and anti-art. Died 2004.
