My current vinyl setup consists on a Rega RP1 turntable that I got as a gift some time ago and a Andover Spinbase 2 that sits just below it and provides wonderful sound within the exact same footprint. First time I installed this setup I noticed that I was having a loud hum when playing audio, and a quick search revealed that the setup may need grounding. Turns out Rega does not provide a grounding cable because they include their grounding in the left (black) channel jack, which automatically grounds all of their systems. Turns out you need to be a bit more hacky when using it with non-Rega equipment, but it’s as easy as adding a grounding wire from the left channel to a grounded screw. The video below shows several possible setups.
