A Large Language Model is a neural network trained on text data using semi-supervised techniques on large quantities of unlabelled text data. It usually amounts to billions of parameters to be considered an LLM. LLMs had a huge surge in early 2023 due to the popularity of ChatGPT, a GPT-based model presented by OpenAI to the public.
