Neon is a small utility by Nicholas Raimbault that patches the Widevine Content Decryption Module (CDM) into Chromium-based browsers that ship without it, such as Helium, Thorium and ungoogled-chromium.
It downloads the latest WidevineCdm, copies it into the target browser’s framework directory, and installs an auto-patch daemon that re-applies the patch whenever the browser updates — so DRM-protected content (Netflix, Disney+, Spotify web player, etc.) keeps working without manual intervention.
Neon is available for both macOS (via Homebrew) and Linux (Arch PKGBUILD, Debian .deb, or manual install). On macOS, an optional menu bar app is also distributed as a DMG.
