PCSX2’s blending accuracy setting controls how accurately it emulates the PS2’s alpha blending (transparency, shadows, fog). Higher values fix visual glitches at the cost of GPU performance.

Levels

LevelUse case
MinimumFastest, broken visuals in many games
BasicFixes some issues, still light
MediumGood balance for weaker GPUs
HighRecommended default — fixes most games, reasonable cost
FullPixel-perfect, only needed for a handful of games

High is the sweet spot. Set it globally and only change per-game: bump to Full if a game still looks wrong, drop to Medium if a game runs too slow.

Changing in RetroBat

  1. Navigate to the PS2 game list (or select a specific game for per-game settings)
  2. Press Start > Game Settings > Visual Rendering (or Advanced Settings)
  3. Find Blending Accuracy and set to High

Setting it through RetroBat’s menu is important because RetroBat overrides PCSX2’s own settings.ini on each launch.
