The World Geodetic System (WGS) is a spatial reference system that is used as a de-facto standard in some applications like GPS. The standard includes not only the reference system (latitude and longitude), but also the Earth Gravitational Model and the World Magnetic Model. Its EPSG Geodetic Parameter Dataset reference code is EPSG:4326.
